"Sunshine Day Nursery - Setting the Standards"

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic we have put into place various policies to safeguard staff, children and families from the spread of the virus.

Below are the main procedures for daily operation here.

- Staggered starting times for all children to make sure that social distancing in still happening.

- Upon arrival children and staff antibacterial wash their hands.

- Hands are washed often throughout the day with antibacterial wash

- Children stay in groups in their own room throughout the day with the same members of staff.

- No toys from home are allowed unless these are comforters.

- Rooms have a distance of two metres between tables.

- Rooms have a lower amount of children in them e.g baby room that usually has 12 children only has 6 and separated each side, 2-3 room 6 children instead of 8 and 3-5 room 16 instead of 24.

- We are still providing meals and snacks. Staff will be wearing gloves when serving food

- Door handles, light switches are antibacterial cleaned both at the end of the day and beginning of the day.

- Children's faces are cleaned with kitchen roll which is disposed of immediately.

- All cups, cutlery, plates etc are put in the dish washer after each use and cleaned at a high temperature.

- Children's sheets and blankets after use have their own name on and are kept separate from each other not stacked on top of each other together. These are washed at the end of the week again at a high temp wash.

- After sleep cots and mattresses are antibacterial wiped down

- No parents allowed in the building.

- Windows kept open as much as possible, as well as plenty of out door play, where the children are, is divided up to keep children in their groups.

- All hard surfaces are cleaned regularly throughout the day with antibacterial cleaning products

- Toys cleaned regularly.

- After each child uses the toilet/potty they are thoroughly cleaned with antibacterial products

- We ask that if a child has a dummy they bring a container to keep it in.

We have also introduced a 'Walkthrough' video available here on this site to enable Parents to view the nursery safely without risk.  However if you wish to visit us while operational, please contact us for an appointment to view the children at play in the garden from our safe observation point adjacent to the garden outside.

The above polices and procedures are in force now, and will continue to be as such until further notice. All procedures are subject to change and alteration in line with guidelines.
